"The historic Anchor Brewhouse is one of the closest residences to London’s Tower Bridge with its iconic twin Gothic towers—and this three-bedroom apartment on its fourth floor has close-up views of the iconic landmark.

On this stretch of the River Thames, the building’s hodgepodge of mostly Victorian-era industrial architecture makes it one of the city’s most recognized buildings.

Scottish shipping agent “John Courage started a brewery there in 1781 [that] brewed beer there until 1981,” listing agent Jon Byers said. “In 1985, work began to convert the building into flats and in 1989, the first residents moved in.”

Byers added that the Anchor Brewhouse was redesigned into residential by Pollard Thomas Edwards Architects. “They made significant changes to the original structure, including adding a large vertical glass bay overlooking Tower Bridge (which provides the dining room of this apartment),” Byers said. “The Anchor Brewhouse now comprises 62 apartments, including studios, maisonettes, one- and two-bedroom apartments and three penthouses.”
